Vendors are not allowed to post. If a poster posts their info, I will warn them to delete their post or I will do it for them. They do it again, I will ban them.
If a new bride comes on the board and is a vendor but wants to post as a bride – PLEASE DO NOT JUMP DOWN HER THROAT. Someone will just explain to delete her thread and not talk about what she does. We have a lot of knotties/nesties on these boards with wedding-related jobs. They are allowed to post...they cannot, in any way, shape or form, promote their business (signatures, bio, posting, etc.). If other brides has used other knotties/nesties services, they can absolutely recommend them to others. I believe there is a rule where you can’t say which knottie it is (even in your bio reviews) but I’m iffy on this – I don’t mind if you mention who the knottie is so you can contact them. We can keep this rule ok unless it gets out of hand.
You are not allowed to give away free stuff to drum up business (other knotties can post about it though if they come across the deal and want to spread the news). Selling your wedding stuff is definitely ALLOWED.
Vendor Bashing
As a bride, everyone knows how frustrating it can be dealing with some businesses. If a bride has a bad experience with a business/vendor, they can VENT about it in a post explaining their experiences. Please try and stay away from the bashing and calling them names type thing. This can only be done once though. If a knottie asks for recommendations or asks about a certain business, if anyone has had a bad experience, they can say “I didn’t have a great experience” (or something of the like) and swap emails for stories. Yes, vendors cannot post on here to defend themselves but neither can our MIL’s, sisters, BM’s or whoever so I still think free speech on a message board is fine to a degree.
These aren’t set in stone but hopefully this will work with the board.
